Job Description
The successful candidate will report to the Dean of the School of Science and Technology (SST) and is expected to teach, conduct research, and engage in service performance at the university level.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Instruction: Teach at undergraduate and graduate levels in specific areas of specialization including Machine Learning and Big Data/Data Science.
Student Support: Support and mentor students in their career endeavors.
Curriculum Development: Participate in curriculum development activities to ensure programs are up-to-date and marketable.
Program Review: Participate in program assessment and reviews.
Research Supervision: Supervise students’ research (projects/theses/dissertations) at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
Academic Research: Engage in active research in the candidate's area of expertise.
Service: Engage in service to the University, the profession, and the community.
Administrative Duties: Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
A Ph.D. or equivalent degree qualification in a relevant area from an accredited University.
At least 3 years of teaching/research experience at the university level as a Lecturer/Research Fellow.
A minimum of thirty-two (32) publication points as a Lecturer/Research Fellow as per the CUE Standards & Guidelines, 2014, of which at least twenty-four (24) should be from refereed scholarly journals.
Must have supervised at least four (4) postgraduate students to completion as a Lecturer/Research Fellow.
Be registered by a relevant professional body, where applicable.

Excellent command of the subject area including lesson planning.

Excellent communication, listening, and mediation skills.
Strong fundraising, grant writing, and research writing skills.
Excellent presentation skills.
