
Privatisation Authority
The Assistant Director, Corporate Communications reports to the Deputy Director, Corporate Communication. The successful candidate will coordinate the development and implementation of the Authority’s corporate communication and customer service functions, including the execution of communication strategies, management of media relations, coordination of stakeholder engagement, and promotion of the Authority’s brand, image, and visibility, while facilitating effective communication between internal and external stakeholders to support the achievement of the Authority’s mandate and strategic objectives.\n\n### Key Responsibilities\n* Coordinate the development and implementation of corporate communication policies, strategies and plans aligned to the Organization’s goals and objectives.\n* Guide the preparation and management of the communication department’s budget.\n* Coordinate the implementation of corporate social responsibility programmes.\n* Coordinate media relations and management of media inquiries to protect and enhance the Organization’s image.\n* Lead in the planning and management of corporate events, including conferences, seminars, and public engagements.\n* Guide the creation of high-quality content for various platforms, ensuring consistency in messaging and branding.\n* Champion public relations campaigns and outreach efforts to enhance the Organization’s visibility.\n* Coordinate the internal communication strategies to ensure effective flow of information within the Organization.\n* Lead the implementation of quality management system procedures in the department for conformity and efficiency.\n* Oversee the development, implementation and review of the Authority’s strategic plan, vision, mission, and objectives.\n* Guide the establishment, nurturing, and strengthening collaborations and partnerships with Government agencies, development partners, the private sector, and other key stakeholders.\n* Coordinate formulation, implementation, monitoring, and review of the Department’s annual budgets, procurement and disposal plans, performance contracts, and annual reports.\n* Supervise coaching, mentoring, and developing staff to foster a high-performing, motivated, and ethical workforce.\n* Coordinate formulation, implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of the Department’s risk management policies and frameworks.\n* Guide the development, implementation, and periodic review of the Department’s Citizen Service Delivery Charter.\n* Foster and entrench a conducive corporate culture that upholds ethical conduct, integrity, professionalism, and good governance within the department in line with the Constitution of Kenya, 2010, and the Authority’s core values.\n* Oversee development and implementation of corruption prevention and mitigation strategies in the Department.\n* Coordinate the implementation of principles of Corporate Governance, relevant national policies, guidelines, and directives.\n* Coordinate the management of public complaints resolution, information access requests, and public awareness initiatives.\n\n### Requirements for Appointment\nTo be appointed to this grade, a candidate must have:\n* Master’s degree in Journalism, Mass Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Communication and Media, or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution.\n* Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Mass Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Communication and Media, or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.\n* Certificate in Leadership Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution.\n* Membership to a relevant professional body in good standing where applicable.\n* Cumulative service period of twelve (12) years of relevant work experience, three (3) of which should have been at the grade of Principal Communications Officer or in a comparable position.\n\n### How to Apply\nApplicants should send their applications and detailed CV with copies of certificates, indicating current position, qualifications, working experience, current remuneration, names of at least three (3) professional referees and daytime telephone to:\n\nThe Managing Director \nPrivatization Authority \nP.O.
