Job Description
The Commission for University Education was established to regulate, coordinate, and assure quality in university education in Kenya. This role, Assistant Commission Secretary for Institutional Accreditation, is central to maintaining these standards through rigorous evaluation and oversight of educational institutions.
Duties and Responsibilities
Assessing and recommending evaluated proposals for approval.
Coordinating technical/full inspections and the preparation of comprehensive reports.
Preparing quarterly and annual work plans for the department.
Preparing departmental budgets.
Coordinating the preparation of full inspection and accreditation reports.
Coordinating the evaluation of institutional self-evaluation reports.
Providing secretariat services to Institutional accreditation committees.
Requirements for Appointment
A minimum of eight (8) years of relevant work experience, including at least three (3) years in a supervisory role.
Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Business Administration, Law, Social Sciences, or any other relevant qualification from a recognized institution.
Master’s Degree in Education, Business Administration, Law, Social Sciences, or any other relevant qualification from a recognized institution.
Membership in a relevant professional body and in good standing.
Completion of a Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution.
Proficiency in computer applications.
Must fulfill the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya.
Mandatory Compliance Documents
Successful candidates will be required to provide the following before the award of offer:
Valid Certificate of Good Conduct from the DCI.
Clearance from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).
Tax Compliance Certificate from KRA.
Clearance Certificate from the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB).
Clearance Certificate from an approved Credit Reference Bureau (CRB).
