The Embu County Government is looking to recruit five (5) qualified individuals to fill the position of Accountant II. This role involves maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and ensuring adherence to government financial regulations and accounting principles.
Key Responsibilities
Preparation and verification of payment vouchers and primary books of accounts.
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date accounting records.
Conducting regular bank reconciliations and monitoring cash flows.
Assisting in the preparation of periodic financial reports and annual budget estimates.
Ensuring compliance with internal controls and statutory financial requirements.
Safe custody of payment vouchers and other financial documents.
Requirements and Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree (BA/BSc/HND) in Commerce (Accounting or Finance option), Business Administration (Accounting option), or a related field from a recognized institution.
Relevant professional qualifications (e.g., CPA Part II) are typically expected for this level of public service role.
Must possess a National Identity Card.
Must provide Academic and Professional Certificates along with relevant Testimonials.
Successful candidates must meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya, including clearances from:
Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC)
Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)
Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)
Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)
Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI)
