Academic Staff (Business, Finance and Economics)

The Open University of Kenya is seeking qualified individuals for academic positions within the Business, Finance, and Economics department. The university aims to address limited capacity in traditional universities by employing innovative teaching and learning methodologies, including online and distance education. Successful candidates will be expected to leverage technology and flexible learning modes to support a large number of students in achieving their academic goals.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality instruction using online and distance education methodologies.
• Manage and support students in a digital learning environment.
• Develop and handle digital content for various course modules.
• Provide mentorship and academic guidance to students.

Required Qualifications and Competencies

For appointment, one MUST have:

• An earned Ph.D. or equivalent degree qualification in the relevant field from an accredited University; OR
• A Master’s degree in the relevant field from an accredited University (in special cases) with at least three (3) years of teaching experience at the university level and registered in good standing for a Ph.D. in the relevant field.
• Proficiency in computer use with the ability to handle digital content.
• Ability to support students online (specifically for part-time/distance learning delivery).
