The Workshop Manager (Automotive) is responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of an automotive workshop. The primary objective is to ensure that all vehicle servicing and repairs are completed timely, safely, and to the highest quality standards. This role involves leading a team of technicians, managing resources, and optimizing workflow to achieve performance targets.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Management: Oversee and manage day-to-day workshop operations, ensuring timely servicing and repair of vehicles.
Team Leadership: Lead, supervise, and motivate a team of technicians and mechanics to achieve performance targets.
Quality & Safety: Ensure all work is carried out to the highest quality and safety standards.
Workflow Coordination: Coordinate workflow between the workshop and Aftersales department to optimize efficiency.
Performance Monitoring: Monitor productivity, turnaround times, and operational efficiency, implementing improvements where necessary.
Resource Management: Manage inventory of spare parts, tools, and equipment to ensure availability and cost control.
Technical Support: Provide technical guidance, troubleshooting support, and training to workshop staff.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and health & safety standards.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (BA/BSc/HND).
Experience: Minimum of 8–10 years’ experience in an automotive workshop, with proven experience in a management role.
Technical Expertise: In-depth technical knowledge of vehicle systems, diagnostics, and repair processes.
Leadership: Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
Soft Skills: Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Work Ethic: Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
