The Work in Progress (WIP) Controller is responsible for the systematic tracking, control, and reconciliation of materials as they move through various production stages within the manufacturing facility. This role ensures that every item issued for production is accurately accounted for and that data records reflect the real-time status of work in progress.
Key Responsibilities
Material Tracking: Monitor and track the movement of products (specifically socks) between departments, including Production, WIP Linking, Checking, Plating, Trimming, Labelling, and Packing.
Inventory Control: Conduct physical daily counts and maintain highly accurate WIP records.
Reconciliation: Reconcile issued, processed, and returned quantities to ensure data integrity and identify losses.
Variance Reporting: Promptly identify and report any variances, discrepancies, or production delays to management.
Team Coordination: Work in close coordination with the production floor teams and the stores/warehouse departments to ensure a seamless flow of materials.
Requirements and Competencies
Educational Background: Possession of a BA/BSc/HND degree.
Numeracy & Literacy: Strong numerical and literacy skills are essential for managing complex reconciliation tasks.
Detail Orientation: High attention to detail to ensure accuracy in inventory counts and tracking.
Communication: Good communication and interpersonal skills for effective coordination across multiple departments.
Organization: Must be proactive and highly organized in handling data and physical inventory.
Technical Skills: Strong reconciliation skills and ability to manage records systematically.
