SGK is a leading Human Resource Management consultancy firm in Kenya and the East African Region. The web developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the company's digital presence including websites, web applications, and online platforms. This role combines creative design expertise with technical development skills to create engaging, user-friendly, and high-performing web solutions that support business objectives and enhance customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
Website Design & Development: Creating and maintaining responsive and aesthetic websites.
API Development & Integration: Hands-on experience integrating RESTful and/or SOAP APIs.
Website Maintenance & Optimization: Ensuring sites are optimized for speed, performance, and uptime.
UI/UX Design: Designing user interfaces and user experiences to enhance engagement.
Client Portal & E-commerce Solutions: Developing and managing online portals and transaction platforms.
Performance & Analytics: Monitoring site performance and analyzing web metrics.
Digital Marketing Support: Assisting with technical requirements for marketing campaigns.
Technical Infrastructure Management: Managing hosting and the underlying technical stack.
Digital Asset Creation: Developing visual and functional digital assets.
Security & Data Protection: Implementing measures to secure data and prevent vulnerabilities.
Technical Support & Training: Providing assistance and guidance to internal teams.
Vendor Management: Coordinating with external vendors and continuous learning on new technologies.
Job Requirements and Experience
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Web Development, Graphic Design, Information Technology, or a related field.
A Diploma with extensive experience is also acceptable.
A portfolio demonstrating completed projects is mandatory.
Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in web design and development within a busy organization.
Previous experience in the insurance sector is considered a significant advantage.
Proficient in integrating RESTful and/or SOAP APIs.
Experience with Content Management Systems such as WordPress, Drupal, and Joomla.
Familiarity with e-commerce platforms.
Salary and Benefits
Salary: Kshs. 140,000 - 150,000 per month.
