Role Overview
CDL Human Resource is seeking a Warehouse Intern to assist in the daily operations of its warehouse facility. This role is ideal for someone pursuing or recently completed studies in Supply Chain Management who wants to gain hands-on experience in inventory management, logistics, and quality control within a fast-paced environment handling perishable goods.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Management: Assist in handling and organizing warehouse inventory to maintain accurate records.
Stock Taking: Participate in conducting regular stock counts and reconcile physical inventory with system records.
Shift Scheduling: Assist in coordinating warehouse shift schedules to maintain continuous coverage.
Stock Records Maintenance: Maintain accurate stock records at all times in the formats established by the Company.
Stock Management: Apply best practices in stock management, including FIFO (First-In-First-Out) and EOQ (Economic Order Quantity) models.
Logistics & Distribution: Coordinate purchases, delivery, and receiving of produce, and oversee the issuance of stock to the sales team.
Quality & Hygiene Compliance: Ensure high quality in product packaging and dispatch while upholding sanitation standards to meet food safety requirements.
Operational Support: Collaborate with warehouse staff to streamline processes and maintain compliance with safety and organizational standards.
Innovation: Propose ideas and initiatives to drive efficiencies and minimize wastage.
Reporting: Create reports on wastage and returns to assist in maintaining optimal stock levels.
Requirements
Pursuing or recently completed a Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field.
Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, particularly with perishable goods.
Basic knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and food safety practices is an added advantage.
