Job Description
The Ward Administrator is responsible to a Sub-County Administrator for coordinating and managing administrative functions within a specific ward unit. The role involves service delivery, policy implementation, and community engagement to ensure effective governance at the local level.
Responsibilities
Coordinating, managing, and supervising general administrative functions in the ward unit.
Liaising with National Government staff at the ward level to ensure synergy.
Developing localized policies and plans for the ward level.
Ensuring effective and efficient service delivery to the residents.
Establishing, implementing, and monitoring performance management systems.
Coordinating development activities aimed at community empowerment.
Providing and maintaining public service infrastructure and facilities.
Facilitating and coordinating citizen participation in policy development and service delivery.
Exercising functions and powers delegated by the County Public Service Board, County Secretary, or Sub-County Administrator.
Performing any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications and Requirements
Must be a Kenyan Citizen.
Holder of a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Business Management, Community Development, or any other Social Science from a recognized University.
Minimum of three (3) years of relevant working experience.
Thorough understanding of County development objectives.
Commitment to values and principles outlined in Articles 10 and 232 of the Constitution.
Ability to work in a multi-ethnic environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Proficiency in computer applications.
Must satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution regarding integrity.
