Waiters

Key Responsibilities

• Greet and escort customers to their tables promptly.
• Present menus and provide detailed information when asked (e.g., about portions, ingredients, or potential food allergies).
• Prepare tables by setting up linens, silverware, and glasses according to hotel standards.
• Take accurate food and drinks orders, using POS ordering software, order slips, or by memorization.
• Communicate order details accurately to the Kitchen Staff.
• Serve food and drink orders to guests in a professional manner.
• Check dishes and kitchenware for cleanliness and presentation, reporting any issues immediately.
• Arrange table settings and maintain a tidy and organized dining area.
• Deliver checks to guests and collect bill payments.
• Carry dirty plates, glasses, and silverware to the kitchen for cleaning.
• Meet with restaurant staff to review daily specials, changes on the menu, and service specifications for reservations.
• Strictly follow all relevant health department and safety regulations.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Must possess a BA, BSc, or HND qualification.
• Proven work experience as a Waiter or Waitress is considered an added advantage.
• Hands-on experience with cash registers and ordering information systems (POS).
• Strong basic math skills.
• Attentiveness and patience for customers.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment.
• Active listening and effective communication skills.
• Strong team spirit and interpersonal abilities.
• Flexibility to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays.
