About the Role\n\nThe Kenya National Youth Service (NYS) is conducting a nationwide recruitment exercise for volunteer servicemen and servicewomen (male and female). NYS is a premier agency through which the Kenyan Government executes a comprehensive youth empowerment master plan. The program focuses on helping youth discover and develop their potential through paramilitary training and national service.\n\n### Responsibilities\n\n- Undergo Basic Paramilitary Training at designated NYS academies (Gilgil or Naivasha).\n- Participate in national development projects and community service across the country.\n- Maintain high standards of discipline and professional conduct as a representative of the NYS.\n- Be available for deployment to any part of the Republic of Kenya for voluntary service.\n\n### Requirements\n\n- Must be a Kenyan citizen.\n- Must be a resident of the respective Sub-County of recruitment.\n- Must be aged between 18 and 24 years.\n- Minimum mean grade of D (Plain) in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE).\n- Must produce original National Identity Card and academic certificates, and submit one set of photocopies at the recruitment center.\n- Must possess a valid police clearance certificate (Certificate of Good Conduct).\n- Willingness to undergo a medical examination during and after the recruitment exercise.\n- Prepared to undergo rigorous Basic Paramilitary Training.\n\n### Additional Considerations\n\n- Special consideration will be given to orphans who meet the requirements, upon presentation of valid proof such as parents’ death certificates or burial permits.\n- PWDs are encouraged to participate, provided they can withstand the prescribed physical training.\n- Applicants with demonstrated sports skills and talents will have an added advantage.\n\n### How to Apply\n\nThe recruitment exercise will be conducted from , starting at 8:00 a.m. daily.
