The National Youth Service (NYS) is conducting a nationwide recruitment exercise for NYS volunteers (male and female). This role is part of a premier agency through which the Kenyan government executes a comprehensive youth empowerment master plan. Successful candidates will undergo basic paramilitary training and will be prepared to offer voluntary service to the nation in any part of the Republic of Kenya. Training will take place at the NYS Paramilitary Academy in Gilgil or the NYS Technical Training Institute (NYSTTI) in Naivasha.
Duties and Responsibilities
Undergo rigorous Basic Paramilitary Training.
Participate in national service projects and community empowerment programs.
Offer voluntary service in various parts of the country as assigned.
Maintain high standards of discipline and physical fitness.
Adhere to the instructions and codes of conduct of the National Youth Service.
Requirements and Qualifications
Must be a Kenyan citizen and a resident of the respective Sub-County of recruitment.
Aged between 18 and 24 years.
Minimum mean grade of D (Plain) in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE).
Valid police clearance certificate (Certificate of Good Conduct).
Willingness to undergo medical examinations during and after the recruitment exercise.
Readiness for physical paramilitary training.
Applicants with demonstrated sports skills and talents will have an added advantage.
Special consideration is given to orphans who provide valid documentary proof (death certificates or burial permits).
Persons with disabilities are encouraged to participate if they can withstand the physical training.

Prospective candidates should present themselves at the designated recruitment centers in their respective Sub-Counties from Monday, 16th March 2026 to Saturday, 21st March 2026, starting at 8:00 a.m. daily.
Candidates must bring:
Original National Identity Card.
Original academic certificates.
One set of photocopies of the ID and certificates.
A valid Police Clearance Certificate.
