Job Description
As a Veterinary Officer at Peoplelink Consultants Ltd, you will play a crucial role in managing animal health, providing high-quality clinical care, and engaging with the community. You will be responsible for diagnosing and treating various animal cases, educating clients on best practices, and ensuring compliance with veterinary regulations. The role requires a blend of clinical expertise, strong communication skills, and a commitment to animal welfare.
Responsibilities
Diagnosis & Management: Assist in the diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of diverse animal health cases.
Clinical Procedures: Administer prescribed medications, vaccinations, and routine veterinary treatments.
Health Assessments: Conduct comprehensive animal health assessments and manage patient follow-up care.
Client Education: Provide guidance to clients on animal care, nutrition, and disease prevention strategies.
Record Keeping: Maintain precise and up-to-date treatment logs and electronic patient medical records.
Laboratory & Diagnostics: Assist in collecting laboratory samples and performing basic diagnostic tests.
Field Outreach: Actively participate in field visits, regional vaccination drives, and community outreach programs.
Compliance: Ensure full compliance with clinic policies and national veterinary regulations set by the KVB.
Requirements
Education: A Diploma or Degree in Animal Health and Production or a related veterinary field.
Professional Registration: Must be registered with the Kenya Veterinary Board (KVB).
Licensing: Must possess a valid and current KVB practicing license.
Experience: Proven experience in handling and treating large animals.
Technical Skills: Solid understanding of animal healthcare protocols and safe handling techniques.
Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills for team and client interactions.
Environment: Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical setting.
IT Skills: Basic computer literacy for reporting and digital record-keeping.
