Job Description
The Veterinary Officer will be responsible for safeguarding animal health, implementing disease control measures, and advising on animal welfare and breeding practices within Nyeri County.
Duties and Responsibilities
Undertaking disease control activities such as disease search, vaccination and enforcement of livestock movement regulations.
Participating in the training of stakeholders in vector control programmes.
Treating sick animals.
Advising on good veterinary practices.
Collecting data and preparing reports on animal health, products and markets.
Providing advice on animal breeding and welfare.
Undertaking post-mortem examinations and other diagnostic tests.
Performing any other duty that may be assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements for Appointment
Be a Kenyan Citizen (Attach ID).
KCPE and KCSE Certificate (Attach certificates).
Have a Bachelors of Veterinary Medicine (BVM) Degree from a recognized institution.
Be registered by the Kenya Veterinary Board (KVB) and be retained in the register.
Be a member of a registered professional association representing the interests of veterinary surgeons.
Be licensed by KVB with a valid practicing license.
Relevant experience of two years and above (Attach evidence).
