The Tutorial Fellow in Information Technology is responsible for academic instruction, student mentoring, and research within the department. This position involves delivering high-quality lectures, designing new programs of study, and contributing to the university's research output and grant-seeking activities.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching and Instruction: Teach in areas allocated by the Head of Department, delivering high-quality lectures and practicals.
Course Development: Design, develop, and plan a range of programs of study, including new courses. Regularly review and update course materials and content.
Research: Carry out research, write research grant proposals, and participate in consultancies. Present findings at national or international conferences and disseminate research outputs.
Collaboration: Work with academic colleagues on curriculum changes and the development of research activities.
Mentorship: Provide career guidance and mentorship to students and staff.
Administrative Duties: Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisors or captured in the detailed job description.
Qualifications and Experience
Academic Background: Must hold a Bachelor's degree and a Master's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology from a recognized and accredited university.
Professional Experience: At least three (3) years of post-qualification work experience is required.
Research and Teaching: Demonstrated potential for university-level teaching and research. Commitment to high-quality teaching and fostering a positive learning environment for students.
