The University of Eastern Africa, Baraton (UEAB) is an internationally acclaimed institution seeking a Tutorial Fellow in Clinical Medicine to join the Department of Clinical Medicine. The successful candidate will teach diploma courses, provide practical clinical training, develop blended learning materials, participate in curriculum development, and mentor students.
Duties and Responsibilities
Teach diploma courses within the Department of Clinical Medicine and other programmes where relevant.
Develop teaching materials for blended learning.
Promote the mission and vision of the Department and the University.
Participate in the preparation of departmental plans and academic documents.
Provide professional and practical clinical training to students.
Organize and supervise educational activities, including clinical placements and educational trips.
Attend and participate in seminars, workshops, and conferences.
Participate in planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of departmental curricula.
Participate in departmental meetings and other School activities.
Serve as Academic Advisor by mentoring students and providing career guidance while maintaining high ethical standards.
Set, moderate, administer, and mark examinations and assignments, and submit semester grades as stipulated by the University.
Perform any other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the University Administration.
Qualifications and Experience
A Master’s Degree in Clinical Medicine or a relevant field from a recognized institution.
A Bachelor’s Degree in Clinical Medicine from an accredited/recognized university.
A minimum KCSE mean grade of C+ or its equivalent.
A valid practicing license from the Clinical Officers Council (COC) of Kenya.
At least three (3) years of teaching and/or research experience at university level as a Tutorial Fellow or Research Fellow.
Clinical experience in a healthcare setting will be an added advantage.
Demonstrated proficiency in modern teaching methods, including the use of technology and simulation tools in clinical education.
