Job Description
Role Overview
This position is responsible for teaching undergraduate students as well as undertaking research that influences theory and practice in a given field. This is the entry grade for Master’s degree holders into the academic cadre at Grade XI.
Key Responsibilities
Undertake teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels.
Lead and manage teams in conducting research individually or collaboratively.
Disseminate research findings through publishing peer-reviewed outputs and national/international learned conferences.
Supervise, advise, and mentor postgraduate students and their research.
Write proposals for research and development funding.
Contribute significantly to the development of academic policies.
Lead and coordinate research activities in subject areas.
Develop collaborative links and research partnerships with other researchers and institutions.
Participate in curriculum development and review.
Guide and mentor early-stage researchers in their training and skills acquisition.
Handle examination preparation, administration, and management.
Participate in the administration and management of departmental programmes.
Undertake community outreach activities.
Provide leadership in the department or school where appropriate.
Attend and participate in research conferences and seminars.
Qualifications and Requirements
Education: An earned Master’s Degree and a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited and recognized University.
PhD Enrollment: Evidence of registration for a PhD.
Publications: At least eight (8) equivalent publication points from credible refereed journal articles.
Professional Membership: Registered with a relevant professional body where applicable and in good standing.
Community Service: Evidence of Community Outreach/Engagement.
Knowledge: Possession of relevant knowledge, skills, and competencies in Robotics and Instrumentation.
