Job Description
About the Role
This position is responsible for teaching undergraduate students as well as undertaking research that influences theory and practice in a given field. This will be the entry grade for Masters’ degree holders into this cadre.
Key Responsibilities
Undertake teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels.
Lead and manage teams in conducting research individually or collaboratively.
Disseminate research findings through publishing peer-reviewed outputs and national and international learned conferences.
Supervise, advise, and mentor postgraduate students and their research.
Write proposals for research and development funding.
Significantly contribute to the development of academic policies.
Lead and coordinate research activities in their subject areas.
Develop collaborative links and research partnerships with other researchers and institutions within and outside the university.
Participate in curriculum development and review.
Guide and mentor early-stage researchers in their training, skills acquisition, and career development in their specialization.
Examination preparation, administration, and management.
Participate in administration and management of departmental programmes and activities.
Undertake community outreach activities.
Provide leadership in the department or school where appropriate.
Participate in the development and review of academic programmes.
Attending and participating in research conferences and seminars.
Perform any other related duty assigned from time to time.
Job Requirements
Evidence of registration for a PhD.
An earned Master’s Degree and a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited and recognized University.
At least eight (8) equivalent publication points from credible refereed journal articles.
Registration with a relevant professional body where applicable and in good standing.
Evidence of Community Outreach/Engagement.
Relevant knowledge, skills, and competencies.
Required Clearances for Successful Candidates

Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)
Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)
Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC)
Directorate of Criminal Investigation (Certificate of Good Conduct)
Registered Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)
