Job Description
Role Overview
This position is responsible for teaching undergraduate students as well as undertaking research that influences theory and practice in the field of Human Anatomy. This is the entry grade for Master’s degree holders into this academic cadre at the University.
Key Responsibilities
Undertake teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
Lead and manage teams in conducting individual or collaborative research.
Disseminate research findings through peer-reviewed publications and presentations at national and international conferences.
Supervise, advise, and mentor postgraduate students in their research activities.
Write proposals for research and development funding.
Contribute significantly to the development of academic policies and coordinate research activities in Human Anatomy.
Develop collaborative links and research partnerships with other researchers and institutions.
Participate in curriculum development and review of academic programmes.
Guide and mentor early-stage researchers in training and career development.
Handle examination preparation, administration, and management.
Participate in the administration and management of departmental programmes.
Undertake community outreach activities and provide leadership in the department or school as appropriate.
Perform any other related duties assigned by the university administration.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education: Must hold an earned Master’s Degree and a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited and recognized University.
PhD Status: Evidence of active registration for a PhD programme.
Publications: At least eight (8) equivalent publication points from credible refereed journal articles.
Professional Registration: Must be registered with a relevant professional body where applicable and be in good standing.
Community Engagement: Evidence of involvement in community outreach or engagement activities.
Competencies: Possess relevant knowledge, skills, and competencies required for university-level instruction.
