Tutorial Fellow - Grade XI (History)

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Undertake teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
• Lead and manage teams in conducting research individually or collaboratively.
• Disseminate research findings through publishing peer-reviewed outputs and presenting at national and international learned conferences.
• Supervise, advise, and mentor postgraduate students in their research activities.
• Write proposals for research and development funding.
• Significantly contribute to the development of academic policies and lead/coordinate research activities in subject areas.
• Develop collaborative links and research partnerships with other researchers and institutions within and outside the university.
• Participate in curriculum development and review of academic programmes.
• Guide and mentor early-stage researchers in their training, skills acquisition, and career development.
• Manage examination preparation, administration, and departmental programme activities.
• Undertake community outreach activities and provide leadership in the department or school where appropriate.
• Attending and participating in research conferences and seminars.
• Perform any other related duties assigned from time to time.

Minimum Requirements

• Evidence of registration for a PhD program.
• An earned Master’ Degree and a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited and recognized University.
• At least eight (8) equivalent publication points from credible refereed journal articles.
• Registration with a relevant professional body where applicable and in good standing.
• Evidence of Community Outreach or Engagement.
• Relevant knowledge, skills, and competencies in the field of History.
