Job Description
Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) is seeking to recruit Tutorial Fellows (Grade XI) specializing in Agricultural Economics and Agricultural Education and Extension. This is an entry-level academic position for Master's degree holders. The successful candidates will be responsible for teaching undergraduate students, undertaking research that influences theory and practice in their respective fields, and pursuing their PhD studies.
Key Responsibilities
Undertake teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels.
Lead and manage teams in conducting research individually or collaboratively.
Disseminate research findings through publishing peer-reviewed outputs and presenting at national and international learned conferences.
Supervise, advise, and mentor postgraduate students and their research.
Write proposals for research and development funding.
Significantly contribute to the development of academic policies and coordinate research activities in their subject areas.
Develop collaborative links and research partnerships with other researchers and institutions within and outside the university.
Participate in curriculum development and review.
Guide and mentor early-stage researchers in their training, skills acquisition, and career development.
Handle examination preparation, administration, and management.
Participate in the administration and management of departmental programmes and activities.
Undertake community outreach activities and provide leadership in the department or school where appropriate.
Perform any other related duty assigned from time to time.
Job Requirements
Evidence of registration for a PhD program.
An earned Master’s Degree and a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited and recognized University.
At least eight (8) equivalent publication points from credible refereed journal articles.
Registration with a relevant professional body where applicable and in good standing.
Evidence of Community Outreach/Engagement.
Relevant knowledge, skills, and competencies in the specific field of specialization.

Directorate of Criminal Investigation (Certificate of Good Conduct)
