Job Description
Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) is seeking a qualified individual for the position of Tutorial Fellow in Development Studies. This academic role is aimed at professionals who hold a Master's degree and are committed to teaching and research excellence while advancing their own doctoral studies. The successful candidate will support the department in delivering high-quality education to students and contributing to the university's research output.
Responsibilities
While specific duties are assigned by the Head of Department, a Tutorial Fellow is typically expected to:
Support senior academic staff in the delivery of undergraduate courses and tutorials.
Facilitate student learning through seminars and practical sessions.
Assist in the preparation of teaching materials and research activities.
Grade assignments, coursework, and examinations.
Actively pursue and maintain registration for a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program.
Participate in departmental meetings and academic administration.
Requirements and Qualifications
Must possess a Master’s degree qualification from an accredited and recognized University.
Must possess a Bachelor’s degree qualification from an accredited and recognized University.
Applicants with teaching and research experience in an institution of higher learning will have an added advantage.
Being registered for a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or equivalent Doctoral degree qualification is an added advantage.
