Trainer (Internship) - Health Science Department

The Siaya National Polytechnic (TSNP) is a public TVET Institution operating under the TVET Act No. 29 of 2013 in the State Department of Vocational and Technical Training, Ministry of Education, Kenya.

The Polytechnic is seeking to recruit a qualified individual for the position of Trainer (Internship) in the Health Science Department.

Requirements for Appointment

For appointment to this position, a candidate must have:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics.
• Background training in Competency-Based Education Training (CBET).
• Pedagogy in Education, training, Technical and Vocational Education and Training Authority (TVETA) Registration, and Registration with relevant professional bodies where applicable will be an added advantage.
• Reliable and of high integrity.
• Good communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Undertaking training in areas of specialization in accordance with the syllabus.
• Preparing teaching/learning materials and schemes of work.
• Developing Technical teaching and Training Materials.
• Setting and marking examinations/assignments.
• Supervision of trainees on attachment.
• Instructing, guiding and evaluating trainees in practical exercises.
• Reporting progress and overall performance of individual trainees.
• Participating in development of curriculum and training programmes.
• Undertaking/carrying out research work under the guidance and supervision of a senior trainer.
