The Siaya National Polytechnic (TSNP) is a public TVET Institution operating under the TVET Act No. 29 of 2013 in the State Department of Vocational and Technical Training, Ministry of Education, Kenya. The institution is seeking to recruit qualified and competent individuals to serve as Trainers in the Computing & Informatics Department.
There are two (2) Trainer positions available in the ICT Department. Candidates will be considered separately based on their academic qualifications. One (1) position is reserved for a candidate with a Bachelor's Degree, while the other is reserved for a candidate with a Diploma Certificate. Applicants are encouraged to apply for the position that matches their qualifications.
Duties and Responsibilities
Undertaking training in areas of specialization in accordance with the syllabus.
Preparing teaching/learning materials and schemes of work.
Setting and marking examinations and assignments.
Supervising trainees on industrial attachment.
Instructing, guiding, and evaluating trainees in practical exercises.
Reporting progress and overall performance of individual trainees.
Participating in the development of curriculum and training programmes.
Undertaking/carrying out research work under the guidance and supervision of a senior trainer.
Delivering competency-based training in ICT programmes.
Preparing lesson plans, schemes of work, and assessment materials.
Maintaining training records and workshop/laboratory equipment.
Requirements for Appointment
Degree in any of the following disciplines: Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, Bachelor of Science in Information Communication Technology, or Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (or a Diploma certificate for the diploma-level trainer vacancy).
Background training in Competency-Based Education (CBET).
Pedagogy and TVETA Registration and Licensing will be an added advantage.
Demonstrated competence in ICT instruction, practical training, and learner assessment.
Good communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
Reliability and high integrity.
