Key Responsibilities
Market Development: Identify a market platform for East Africa and maintain it by focusing on new businesses (clients and opportunities), identifying new opportunities from existing clients, and reviewing "lost" and "sleeping" accounts.
Campaign Targeting: Identify potential clients based on specific campaigns given by the sales management.
Market Intelligence: Update and maintain Market intelligence profiles with new, relevant content for the industry verticals. Distribute vital marketing information to build market intelligence.
Surveys & Reporting: Compile market feedback via a survey tool and share feedback with sales management. Conduct research upon request, share country updates, and generate relevant survey reports for stakeholders.
CRM Management: Update Corelog (Customer Relationship Management System) for data quality management.
Client Relations: Operate as the lead point of contact for any and all matters specific to potential customers. Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships and develop trusted advisor relationships with key customer stakeholders.
Networking: Attend industry-specific conferences and events.
Reporting & Tracking: Communicate clearly the progress of monthly/quarterly initiatives to relevant stakeholders. Forecast and track key account metrics.
Experience & Qualifications
Bachelors / First University Degree in International Studies, Business, Engineering, or Supply Chain from a reputable Academic Institution (Preferred).
Apprenticeship / Vocational Course in sales (Preferred).
Proven industry knowledge of the assigned vertical.
Operational experience in one of the core transportation modes being sold.
Experience conducting sales leadership workshops, whiteboard sessions with customers, or process review processes with global customers.
Demonstrated ability to communicate, present, and influence credibly and effectively at all levels.
Moderate level of computer literacy.
Readiness for regular local and overseas travel.
Ability to continuously update own insight to competitors' business strategy towards the same vertical.
Excellent listening, negotiation, analytical, and presentation skills.
Critical thinker with excellent qualitative and quantitative skills.
Proven verbal and written communication skills with a can-do attitude.
Energetic leadership personality, highly pro-active, and self-motivated.
Solution-oriented and able to work with teams of diverse cultural backgrounds.
