Job Description
Our client, a leading telecommunications provider, is seeking to recruit a Trade Development Representative (TDR) to be based in Kakamega CBD. Reporting to the Area Sales Manager, the primary purpose of this role is to focus on channel visitations to drive retailer awareness and turnaround on SIMs and Float, while paying significant attention to visibility and merchandising at points of purchase for SSOs and T-Kash agents.
Key Responsibilities
SSO & Agent Recruitment & Mapping: Effectively manage the identification and recruitment of Agents, specifically targeting mobile money outlets and high-traffic retail stores.
Call Rate: Visit SSOs and Agents regularly using agreed route plans (beat plans) to maintain consistent engagement.
Training and Delivery of Business Tools: Provide all requisite tools for transactions at SSO and agent outlets and train SSOs and T-Kash Agents on operational processes.
AML Training and Testing: Train agents on Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations and SSOs on Know Your Customer (KYC) processes in relation to SIM registration (SIMREG).
Float and Stock Cover and Sales: Monitor and effectively enforce the 1.5x stock rule for agents and ensure SSOs have adequate stock of SIMs for new registrations and activations.
Merchandising: Develop and maintain merchandising standards by ensuring the availability and placement of merchandising materials at SSOs and Agent outlets.
Qualifications and Experience
Academic: Must possess a Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
Experience: At least 1 year of experience in a sales and distribution role, preferably within the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) or Telecommunications sectors.
