Key Responsibilities

Transportation and Logistics

• Safely drive NGO staff, VIPs, and project participants to approved destinations, including offices, field sites, and official meetings.
• Transport project goods, parcels, documents, and cargo, ensuring timely and secure delivery.

Vehicle Maintenance and Compliance

• Ensure vehicles are clean, well-maintained, and in good working condition.
• Keep vehicle documentation, such as registration, insurance, and maintenance records, up to date.
• Report any mechanical issues promptly and coordinate necessary repairs.
• Adhere to local traffic laws and organizational safety policies.

Operational Support

• Assist project teams with logistical tasks as needed, including fieldwork support.
• Be available during off-hours or emergencies to meet operational demands.

Teamwork and Professional Conduct

• Build effective relationships with colleagues, external partners, and local authorities.
• Demonstrate empathy, respect, and adaptability in diverse work environments.
• Contribute to improving transport and logistical systems based on experience and best practices.

Qualifications and Skills

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• 3–5 years or more experience in professional driving preferred.
• Proficiency in driving manual transmission vehicles.
• Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and basic mechanical troubleshooting.
• Strong understanding of local traffic laws and safety regulations.
• Ability to work under pressure, adapt to changing circumstances, and handle emergencies.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work as part of a team.
• Basic literacy and numeracy; computer literacy may be an advantage.
• Academic qualification (BA/BSc/HND or Diploma equivalent).

Duration and Compensation

• The assignment shall be undertaken on an as-needed basis.
• The Consultant shall be paid a daily rate of KSh 10,000, inclusive of all logistical and related operational costs incurred in the execution of the assignment.
