Sheer Logic Management Consultants is seeking a Technical Sales Officer to drive growth and manage relationships within the industrial gases sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for prospecting new clients for cylinders, dry ice, and bulk CO2, and managing the end-to-end sales process to increase company revenue. This role involves a blend of technical interpretation of client needs, business development, and relationship management in both B2B and B2C markets.
Responsibilities
Sales and Business Development
Prospect for new cylinder, dry ice, and bulk CO2 customers to increase sales revenue.
Responsible for increasing company revenue through the sale of CO2 cylinders, dry ice, and bulk sales.
Manage and interpret customer requirements to provide suitable technical solutions.
Negotiate and close sales by agreeing on cylinder terms and conditions.
Business Development: Generate new application areas for CO2 usage in various industries.
Follow up on dry ice and cylinder sales leads and monitor the issuance and refilling of cylinders.
Marketing and Market Intelligence
Evaluate the use of CO2 by existing clients and make recommendations to potential clients.
Ensure all cylinders are branded and serialized for traceability and tracking.
Collect market intelligence by studying competitor prices and activities to advise management on strategy.
Customer Service and Account Management
Provide technical support on retail products and build long-term relationships with existing and potential customers.
Offer after-sales support services and coordinate delivery logistics for specific customers.
Submit progress reports on all customer visits and maintain detailed sales records.
Financial and Debt Management
Monitor credit control for Depot customers and follow up on outstanding debts from cylinder business clients.
Collect CO2 cylinders that are not generating rental fees to optimize asset utilization.
Generate and submit accurate sales documentation including quotations, delivery notes, invoices, cash receipts, and statements.
Submit weekly and monthly sales reports (actual vs. budgeted) indicating consumption trends and projections.
Qualifications and Requirements
A minimum of a Degree or Diploma in Engineering.
At least 2 years of experience in sales engineering or the sales of industrial gases.
Technical background with proven selling skills in both B2C and B2B markets.
In-depth working knowledge and experience in sales processes and negotiation.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Good product knowledge to confidently sell the benefits of Carbon Dioxide in a professional manner.
