Sustainable Business Consulting (SBC) was established in 2016 with the vision of helping businesses to attain economic prosperity by being environmentally restorative and socially just. As a Tax and Accounting Officer, you will provide comprehensive tax and accounting services to a diverse portfolio of clients, ensuring compliance and operational excellence across various sectors including NGOs, SMEs, and donor-funded projects.\n\n### Key Responsibilities\n\n#### Tax Compliance and Advisory\n- Prepare and file statutory returns including VAT, PAYE, withholding tax, corporate tax, and other applicable taxes.\n- Advise clients on tax compliance obligations and emerging tax regulations.\n- Support tax planning and compliance reviews across different sectors.\n- Liaise with tax authorities on behalf of clients where necessary.\n- Support clients during tax audits, reviews, and regulatory assessments.\n\n#### Advisory and Capacity Building\n- Provide accounting and financial management guidance to client teams.\n- Support organizations in strengthening financial policies and compliance systems.\n- Identify operational and financial risks and recommend mitigation measures.\n- Assist clients in audit preparation and responding to audit findings.\n- Support financial due diligence and compliance assessments where required.\n\n#### Client Accounting Support\n- Manage and maintain accurate accounting records for multiple client organizations.\n- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.\n- Support clients with budgeting, cash flow management, and financial planning.\n- Conduct bank, ledger, and account reconciliations.\n- Review and improve accounting systems, processes, and internal controls.\n- Provide bookkeeping oversight and financial management support.\n\n### Qualifications and Experience\n- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field.\n- CPA(K), ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification required.\n- Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting, tax, or financial advisory roles.\n- Demonstrated experience supporting organizations across different sectors (NGOs, SMEs, private sector, donor-funded projects).\n- Strong understanding of tax regulations, financial reporting standards, and compliance requirements.\n- Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.\n\n### Key Competencies\n- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.\n- Ability to manage multiple clients and priorities simultaneously.\n- Excellent interpersonal and client relationship management skills.\n- High attention to detail and accuracy.\n- Strong communication and report-writing skills.\n- Professional integrity and confidentiality.\n- Adaptability across different industries and organizational contexts.\n\n### Preferred Attributes\n- Experience working in consulting or outsourced finance support environments.\n- Familiarity with donor compliance and grant financial management.\n- Ability to work independently and provide practical solutions to clients.\n\n### How to Apply\nInterested and qualified candidates should apply online via LinkedIn at: https://www.myjobmag.co.ke/apply-now/1232386
