Victory Farms is seeking a Systems Lead to oversee the architecture, reliability, and continuous improvement of its ERPNext/Frappe platform across group entities. The Systems Lead will manage ERPNext core systems, integrate operational data pipelines, and lead a developer team to support the company's business growth in aquaculture and supply chain operations.
Key Responsibilities
ERPNext / Frappe Platform Ownership and Reliability
- Own the architecture of the ERPNext estate across group entities — custom doctypes, server and client scripts, workflows, and valuation logic (including fixed valuation rates for gutted fish SKUs and warehouse-specific variance posting).
- Hold accountability for the correctness of business workflows and edge cases, system uptime, and the health of background jobs and queues on Frappe Cloud.
- Perform controlled remediation (System Console scripts, targeted data fixes) with proper safeguards, change control, and rollback discipline; maintain runbooks for recurring incidents.
- Manage releases, patches, upgrades, user roles and permissions, and data-security measures protecting sensitive information under the Kenya Data Protection Act (2019).
Integrations and Upstream Data Capture
- Design and maintain integrations feeding operational data into ERPNext — M-Pesa / Daraja payment flows, Power Automate / SharePoint field-data synchronization, and other third-party APIs.
- Own the upstream capture logic behind feed and mortality logging, stock movement and consumption tracking, and purchase-to-receipt and billing workflows.
- Ensure data is captured correctly at the point of operation so downstream platforms (Snowflake, Power BI) inherit clean, trustworthy records.
- Support offline-first field applications (e.g., Victory Feed Log PWA) and the pipelines that post their data into ERPNext Stock Entries.
Team Leadership, Standards, and Continuity
- Lead, mentor, and develop a small team of developers; set and enforce development, testing, code-review, and release standards.
- Own change and release management, technical documentation, standard operating procedures, and user training, driving ERPNext adoption across departments.
- Maintain an after-hours support / on-call model so production issues are handled without single-person dependency, and manage relationships with external vendors and partner apps.
- Stay current with ERPNext / Frappe releases and industry practice, recommending improvements to performance, efficiency, and user experience.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 4+ years’ experience in ERPNext / Frappe development and customization, with at least some time in a lead or senior capacity.
- Strong proficiency in Python and JavaScript, and deep knowledge of the Frappe framework, ERPNext modules, workflows, and architecture.
- Demonstrated experience integrating ERPNext with external systems and APIs (payment gateways such as M-Pesa / Daraja, Microsoft 365 / Power Automate, and similar).
- Familiarity with database management (MariaDB / MySQL), SQL, and web technologies (HTML, CSS, REST APIs).
- Proven leadership and team-management skills, with the ability to motivate and mentor engineers.
- Strong problem-solving, project-management, and communication skills, and the ability to prioritize across parallel workstreams.
- Experience in a manufacturing, distribution, or multi-entity operating environment, and with Agile methodologies, is a plus.
Benefits
- High visibility into the world’s fastest-growing aquaculture company.
- Coaching, mentorship, and unique exposure to leaders in entrepreneurship and the social sector.
