Amentum is seeking a Synchrolift Electrical Control Operator to be responsible for operating, maintaining, and repairing the electrical control systems for the Synchrolift, ensuring their safe and efficient functionality. The successful candidate will monitor systems during critical vessel dry docking and undocking operations and perform complex maintenance on motor control centers (MCC).
Responsibilities
Operations: Operate and monitor Synchrolift electrical control systems to ensure the safe handling of vessels during dry docking and undocking operations.
Maintenance & Repair: Perform maintenance and troubleshooting of motor control center (MCC) operations and electrical components of the Synchrolift system. Diagnose and repair electrical issues in control systems and associated equipment.
Compliance & Standards: Ensure all electrical maintenance and repairs comply with safety and operational protocols. Collaborate with Journeymen Electricians to ensure all control system maintenance is completed to industry standards.
Quality Control: Conduct regular quality inspections on the electrical control systems to ensure proper operation and prompt identification of faults.
Technical Support: Respond to technical emergencies or electrical failures concerning the Synchrolift system. Review operational procedures and technical manuals to perform tasks safely and efficiently.
Training: Obtain and maintain specialized training from the Synchrolift manufacturer regarding electrical control system operations.
Requirements
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience: Strong electrical background with demonstrated expertise in operating and maintaining complex electrical systems. Prior experience or knowledge of motor control center (MCC) operations.
Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with electrical standards, maintenance practices, and safety regulations.
Compliance: Must possess a valid passport (valid for a minimum of 1 year at time of hiring) and be able to travel internationally.
Medical: Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain requirements for the duration of deployment.
Manufacturer Training: Completion of specialized training provided by the Synchrolift manufacturer for electrical control system operations (or ability to complete such training upon hire).
Preferred Qualifications
Journeyman Electrician certification or equivalent technical credentials.
Previous experience in electrical systems for large mechanical equipment or maritime systems.
Prior experience in an austere OCONUS (Outside the Continental United States) environment with a multi-national workforce.
Valid country driver’s license.
Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and troubleshoot complex electrical systems effectively.
