Job Description
Kenya Electricity Generating Company PLC (KenGen) is offering an internship opportunity for a Supply Chain Officer Intern. This role is designed to provide graduates with practical experience in procurement and supply chain management within a large-scale public utility environment. The intern will assist in the end-to-end procurement cycle, ensuring compliance with procurement laws and internal policies.
Key Responsibilities
Compiling and submitting the procurement plan.
Processing purchase requisitions (PRs) from various user departments.
Inviting tenders and quotations for goods, works, and services in accordance with procurement laws.
Drafting procurement professional opinion (PPOs) papers in liaison with user departments.
Assisting in the preparation of memos for tender opening and evaluation committee members.
Evaluating tenders based on established criteria and preparing detailed evaluation reports.
Drafting notification of award letters for successful bidders.
Raising purchase orders (POs) for goods, works, and services for approval.
Liaising with suppliers to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of goods and services.
Qualifications and Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement & Supplies Management, Business Administration (Procurement Option), or a relevant field from a recognized institution.
Must be prepared and willing to serve in any of the KenGen business areas across Kenya.
