Job Description
Role Purpose
NYEWASCO is seeking a Supply Chain Manager to provide strategic leadership and guidance in the overall management of the Supply Chain function. The successful candidate will offer technical advice on the procurement of goods, works, and services, as well as overseeing inventory management and asset disposal as guided by the Public Procurement and Asset Disposal Act (PPADA), 2015 and Public and Assets Disposal Regulations (PPADR), 2020.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership: Provide overall leadership for the Supply Chain department, aligning procurement strategies with the company’s mission.
Technical Advisory: Offer expert advice on the procurement of goods, works, and services to ensure value for money.
Compliance Management: Ensure all procurement activities adhere to the Public Procurement and Asset Disposal Act (PPADA), 2015 and Public and Assets Disposal Regulations (PPADR), 2020.
Inventory & Disposal: Manage the company's inventory effectively and oversee the disposal of assets in a transparent and lawful manner.
Contract Management: Oversee the preparation and management of procurement contracts and supplier relationships.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or Commerce (Supply Chain Management option), Procurement or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Professional Certification: Logistics Management qualification (CIPS, CPSP) or other relevant professional qualifications.
Professional Membership: Active membership in the Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM) with good standing and a current practicing license.
Experience: At least nine (9) years of relevant work experience, with at least five (5) of which must have been in a managerial role.
Compliance: Must fulfill the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya (integrity and ethics).
Added Advantage: A postgraduate qualification will be considered an added advantage.
