Student Attachment - Legal Affairs and Corporation Secretary

Responsibilities

• Assist in organizing and participating in sensitization workshops and seminars for institutional investors and issuers on Corporate Governance and Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG).
• Update corporate governance databases for issuers’ announcements, change of directors, change of CSs, and change of auditors.
• Update and analyze the monthly shareholding database for issuers.
• Conduct periodic and one-off surveys on sustainability and emerging issues in corporate governance.
• Assist in conducting research and preparing legal briefs and opinions.
• Support the maintenance of proper records regarding court files, contracts, and legal opinions.
• Update the register of judicial precedents related to Capital markets.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Must be a continuing student pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Law or a Diploma in Law.
• Alternatively, must be a continuing student at the Kenya School of Law or a continuing Certified Secretary (CS) student.
