The Strategic Relationship Manager (SRM) 1 is a seasoned and experienced procurement professional responsible for the overall support, planning, and execution of specific commodities and supplier relationships. In this role, you will manage less complex portfolios while potentially assisting with more complex initiatives under the mentorship of senior staff. The goal is to ensure the organization receives the best value while maintaining high standards of supplier performance and compliance.
Responsibilities
Supplier Relationship Management: Leverage Church enterprise expenditures to qualify, negotiate, select, and establish legal contracts with vendors. You will be responsible for ensuring that contracted terms and conditions are met and maintaining healthy long-term vendor relationships.
Stakeholder Needs Analysis: Understand and document the needs of internal partners and sponsoring organizations. You will design solutions that ensure product and service requirements are satisfied at the best possible value, serving as an industry authority for specific product/service categories.
Procurement Operations: Execute day-to-day procurement tasks using purchasing tools such as eMarket, PeopleSoft, and Microsoft Dynamics 365. This includes accepting requisitions, creating purchase orders, expediting orders, and maintaining catalogs for frequently used goods and services.
Industry Engagement: Interact with vendors, consultants, and professional groups to stay updated on industry trends and best practices.
Requirements
Education: A Bachelor's degree is required.
Experience: Minimum of 4 years of related experience in procurement, supply chain management, or strategic sourcing. An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.
Technical Knowledge: Seasoned knowledge of supply-chain processes, strategic sourcing, and outsourcing.
Soft Skills: Well-developed interpersonal skills with a strong ability to negotiate and resolve conflicts effectively.
Travel: Ability to undertake up to 15% domestic and international travel, including trips that may last up to 2 weeks at a time.
Certifications (Preferred): Professional certifications such as CPM (Certified Purchasing Manager) or CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management) are highly desirable.
