Nutri Nuts and Fruits Limited is a leading exporter of high-quality nuts and dried fruit from Kenya. We are seeking a Stores Supervisor to be based at our processing factory located in Meru. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all store operations, managing inventory accuracy, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards to support our supply chain efficiency.
Responsibilities
1. Stores Operations & Inventory Management
Receive, inspect, and record incoming materials, raw materials, packaging, and finished goods against delivery notes and purchase orders.
Ensure proper storage, labeling, and organization of items in the stores in accordance with FIFO/FEFO principles.
Issue materials to production and other departments based on approved requisitions.
Maintain accurate stock levels and conduct regular stock counts and reconciliations.
Monitor stock movement to prevent shortages, overstocking, losses, or expiries.
2. Supply Chain and Documentation
Update stock records, bin cards, and inventory management systems accurately and on time.
Prepare and submit regular inventory reports including stock balances, consumption, and variances.
Support procurement and supply chain teams with stock status updates for planning and replenishment.
File and maintain all store-related documentation for audit and reference purposes.
3. Quality, Safety & Compliance
Ensure materials received meet quality specifications and report any non-conformities.
Adhere to quality, food safety (where applicable), and regulatory requirements during storage and handling.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized store environment in line with safety and hygiene standards.
Participate in internal and external audits by providing required stores records.
4. Coordination and Communication
Liaise with production, procurement, QA, and logistics teams to ensure smooth material flow.
Communicate stock discrepancies, damages, or shortages promptly to the supervisor.
Support continuous improvement initiatives within the stores and supply chain function.
5. Workplace Health, Safety, and Security
Observe workplace health and safety rules at all times.
Ensure proper handling and storage of materials to prevent damage, contamination, or accidents.
Safeguard company property and ensure controlled access to the stores.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Inventory Accuracy: Variance between physical and system stock and frequency of discrepancies.
Stores Efficiency: Timely issuance of materials and reduction in stock-outs.
Loss Prevention & Control: Number of damaged or expired items and compliance with FIFO/FEFO.
Documentation & Reporting: Timeliness and accuracy of reports.
Compliance & Safety: Audit findings and hygiene compliance level.
Requirements and Qualifications
A BA/BSc/HND or Diploma in a relevant field (Supply Chain, Procurement, or Logistics).
Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in stores or inventory management.
Proficiency in inventory management systems and documentation.
Solid understanding of FIFO/FEFO principles.
High level of integrity and attention to detail.
