Job Description
Located at China Centre (along Ngong Road), The Luton Hospital is a highly reputable and trusted Level 4 private medical service provider known for its quality specialist health care. The Stores Assistant will play a vital role in managing inventory transactions and physical stock at the main hospital.
Role Overview
The Stores Assistant reports to the General Ledger Accountant with a dotted line to the Procurement Manager. The role involves tactical inventory management, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards, and supporting timely stock movement within the hospital.
Key Responsibilities
Tactical Inventory Posting: Initiate receiving (GRNs) and issuing (indents) by posting inventory in the ERP system concurrently with physical item movements.
Inventory Verification: Assist the Inventory Accountant in meeting assertions of existence, accuracy, valuation, and completeness regarding cost and valuation criteria.
Efficacy: Ensure receipts and issuance of inventory are handled in a timely manner.
Compliance: Adhere to procurement policies, inventory guidelines, and International Accounting Standard 2 (IAS 2 - Inventories).
Reporting: Support the Inventory Accountant in preparing inventory reports, stock-take reports, and variance reports.
Academic and Professional Qualifications
Minimum of Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Part II.
A Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Business or Supply Management is an added advantage.
At least 1 year of post-qualification experience after CPA Part II.
Prior experience as an inventory assistant or in a similar position within a Level 4 hospital, or experience as an Audit semi-senior in an external audit firm.
