Job Description
Girwa FM is a licensed radio broadcasting in Dholuo that runs lifestyle and entertainment programs. It is one of Kenya’s Dholuo FM radio stations, with coverage in Homa Bay, Migori, Kisumu, Siaya and their surroundings.
Role Overview
This is a six (6) month Internship/Volunteer position. Successful interns and volunteers who demonstrate commitment, professionalism, and outstanding performance will receive a Certificate of Internship/Volunteer Service and be given priority consideration for future employment opportunities at Girwa Radio as positions become available.
Key Responsibilities
Cover local and regional sporting events.
Conduct interviews with athletes, coaches, and sports officials.
Prepare and present sports news bulletins.
Provide live sports commentary where required.
Produce sports features, interviews, and analysis programmes.
Promote grassroots sports development.
Qualifications and Requirements
Diploma or Degree in Journalism, Sports Journalism, Mass Communication, or a related field.
Passion for sports and excellent communication skills.
