Absa Bank Limited is seeking a Specialist Infrastructure Solution Architect to join their team. The role is primarily focused on technical solution design and the verification of implementation for various components of the solution architecture. The successful candidate will work closely with technical Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and stakeholders to ensure that infrastructure solutions are robust, optimized, and aligned with business goals. This position requires deep technical expertise and the ability to translate complex business requirements into actionable architectural designs.
Key Responsibilities
Focus on the technical solution design and implementation verification of various solution architecture components.
Collaborate closely with relevant technical SMEs to ensure solution efficacy.
Prepare technical artefacts required for operational handover to ensure smooth transition to production.
Inform stakeholders about potential threats, risks, or misalignment of solutions.
Identify and recommend areas for infrastructure improvement and optimization.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education: A BA/BSc/HND degree in a relevant field (ICT/Computer Science/Engineering).
Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in Infrastructure Architecture.
Industry Background: Experience in infrastructure architecture or solution design within a banking or similar large corporate environment.
Technical Skills:
Working knowledge of server hardware and virtualization technology.
Proficiency in server operating systems, specifically Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Windows Server.
Expertise in storage systems including SAN and IP Storage.
Understanding of data centre networking, including DNS, GSLB, and IP Routing.
Ability to gather business and application requirements and translate them into architecture/design artefacts.
Storage Technologies: IBM Flash Storage, Pure Storage, Dell PowerScale (Isilon) ECS, PowerFlex.
