Job Description
MGM Muthu Hotels, a luxury international hotel chain that recently expanded into the Kenyan market, is seeking a qualified Sous Chef for its Nairobi operations. The role is designed for a culinary professional who can support the Executive Chef in delivering a unique and high-quality dining experience that aligns with the brand's luxury standards. Candidates should be prepared to work in a dynamic environment where wildlife and adventure are at the heart of the guest experience.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Executive Chef in supervising and coordinating all kitchen activities.
Manage food production to ensure that all dishes meet established quality and presentation standards.
Oversee kitchen staff, providing guidance and ensuring high performance.
Enforce strict adherence to health, safety, and sanitation protocols within the kitchen.
Assist in managing kitchen costs, including inventory control and minimizing food waste.
Help in the development and implementation of new menus and culinary concepts.
Requirements
A BA/BSc/HND in Culinary Arts, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
A strong understanding of culinary techniques and kitchen management.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and hygiene standards.
Excellent leadership and communication skills.
