Job Description

BIMAS Kenya Limited, a leading microfinance institution in the country, seeks to recruit capable and result-oriented individuals to fill the position of Software Development and End User Support Intern. This role offers an excellent opportunity for candidates to develop their technical skills in a fast-paced microfinance environment, contributing to software maintenance and IT infrastructure support.

Duties and Responsibilities

System Maintenance: Set up, configuration, and maintenance of computers, mobiles, hardware, systems, and applications.
Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot system and network problems, diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults.
Software Development: Assist in the development and maintenance of software applications.
Technical Support: Resolve IT support requests from clients and employees and log all service requests, updating tickets as needed.
Data Analysis: Gather and analyze data to diagnose problems with computer systems.
Software Updates: Install new software and hardware drivers and update existing ones as needed.
Networking: Support the installation and maintenance of computer networks (WAN and LAN).
Infrastructure Availability: Ensure availability of computer systems and infrastructure.
End-User Support: Provide general end-user support and any other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Requirements and Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related IT Field (or equivalent professional experience).
Analytical mindset with problem-solving capabilities.
Basic understanding of software development lifecycles and networking fundamentals.
