About the Role
A Social Media Manager at Pharo Foundation is responsible for executing the organisation’s digital voice across platforms, ensuring that content clearly communicates impact, programmes, and strategic priorities. This role will focus on planning and producing high-quality multimedia content, managing posting schedules, and maintaining consistent branding and messaging across countries and projects.
The role involves analysing performance data to refine strategy, growing and engaging online audiences, and supporting key campaigns, partnerships, and fundraising efforts through targeted social media content.
Key Responsibilities
Social Media Management
Strategy Execution: Execute approved social media strategy and develop relevant campaign ideas.
Content Scheduling: Manage content calendars to ensure consistent and timely posting.
Channel Oversight: Oversight of all social channels owned by Pharo Foundation (from main global channels to school, country-specific, and Ventures channels).
Performance Analytics: Track performance metrics and analyse data to optimise content and strategy.
Campaign Support: Support fundraising, advocacy, and partnership campaigns through digital storytelling.
Trends & Updates: Stay up to date with social media trends, tools, and platform updates.
Audience Engagement: Manage audience engagement by reposting, replying to comments, and engaging with stakeholders and competitors online.
Risk Management: Manage reputational risk by monitoring online sentiment and addressing issues proactively.
Partner Targets: Launch social media campaigns on the basis of partner targets discussed with the Director of Partnerships.
Podcast Marketing: Contribute jointly with the podcast team to launch marketing campaigns for the podcast per episode, based on episode-specific identification of targets.
Content Creation
Multimedia Production: Produce multimedia content including graphics, short-form videos, photography, and written copy.
Copywriting: Write clear, compelling captions tailored to different platforms and audiences.
Branding: Ensure all content aligns with brand guidelines, tone of voice, and messaging priorities.
Quality Control: Spell and grammar check captions and subtitles.
Creative Development: Assist the team in developing creative concepts that translate programme work into engaging, audience-friendly stories.
Specific Assets: Create campaign-specific content to support fundraising, advocacy, and awareness efforts.
Asset Management: Maintain an organised content library of photos, videos, and assets.
Qualifications and Experience
A Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Digital Marketing, Media Studies, Public Relations, Journalism, or any complementary fields like Communications, English, or Sociology.
At least 7 years of hands-on experience in Social Media Management and content creation.
Proven experience managing successful social media pages on LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and TikTok.
Desired Skills
Proficiency in communication, interpersonal relations, and project management.
Demonstrated ability to use Adobe Suite Programmes (Photoshop, Premiere, etc.) and other relevant editing software.
Strong copywriting and editing skills for platform-specific messaging.
Experience with social media management tools (Hootsuite, Sprout Social, Buffer, or Later).
Proficiency in Meta Business Suite and Google Analytics to track performance.
Competency and understanding of SEO and digital optimisation.
Adaptability to responding quickly to trends and feedback.
High attention to detail regarding accuracy and quality.
Crisis and reputation management expertise.
