Job Description
Talent Grid Africa is a regional consulting firm that partners with leaders in business to handle the complexities of hiring the right talent, engaging them in the right way, improving performance, and retaining top talent. We are currently seeking a Showroom Supervisor to oversee retail operations and ensure excellence in customer service and sales performance.
Role Overview
The Showroom Supervisor will be responsible for implementing marketing activities, managing showroom administration, and supervising staff to optimize sales performance and profitability. The role involves overseeing daily operations, stock management, and maintaining the company's corporate image through effective merchandising and staff grooming.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing & Sales: Implement all marketing activities in the showroom according to agreed pricing and ongoing special offers and promotions. Supervise selling and customer service activities to optimize and sustain sales performance.
Operations & Administration: Maintain administration, relevant reporting, and planning systems for the showroom; issue timely management and statistical reports. Supervise cash and payment operations at the front desk in accordance with company procedures.
Merchandising: Plan and implement store merchandising, layout, and customer traffic flow to maximize sales, customer satisfaction, and ergonomics.
Stock Management: Supervise all stock movement activities (in/out, transfers, sales) and ensure efficient stock replenishment to eliminate shortages.
Team Leadership: Conduct morning meetings, take minutes, and share with stakeholders. Monitor sales team performance, identify gaps, and ensure staff adhere to grooming and corporate image standards.
Customer Engagement: Perform regular floor walks to ensure sales teams are engaging well with clients and addressing any issues that arise.
Compliance & Safety: Ensure safety and health measures (e.g., PPEs, fire extinguishers) are complied with at the branch level. Escalate staff issues to the Branch Manager or HR where necessary.
Key Requirements
Experience: 1+ years of experience as a team leader, Sales Supervisor, or Showroom Supervisor in a busy environment.
Education: Business-related Diploma or University Graduate. Related training courses in sales are an added advantage.
Technical Skills: Adept in the use of MS Office (particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint), internet, and email.
Communication: Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to motivate via written media.
Background: Ideal background in Retail and Service industries; furniture retail experience is a significant plus.
Attributes: Critical thinker with the ability to pre-empt and amicably resolve emerging issues.
