Role Overview
The Shop Business Executive is responsible for driving retail operations and non-fuel income growth. This role focuses on developing shop layouts, leading modernization programs, and expanding categories through strategic retail partnerships to optimize space productivity and sales margins.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop layouts for new shops and identify stations that could support retail operations.
- Lead shop modernization programs including layout optimization, planograms, and space productivity.
- Drive non-fuel income growth through category expansion, food-to-go concepts, and strategic retail partnerships.
- Identify and implement initiatives to increase basket size, footfall conversion, and gross margin performance.
- Develop assortment strategies based on consumer insights and local demographics.
- Support supplier negotiations, rebate agreements, joint business planning, and promotional calendars to ensure timely and effective execution across the network.
- Monitor pricing competitiveness versus modern trade and informal retail.
- Provide training and guidance on merchandising, stock management, and retail execution standards.
- Regularly visit service stations to ensure operational compliance and support retail initiatives.
- Ensure alignment with HSSE and company governance requirements.
Qualifications and Experience
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, Marketing, Supply Chain, or related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in Supermarket retail management, OR FMCG category management/trade marketing, OR Multi-site retail operations.
- Experience in petroleum retail or forecourt convenience operations is an added advantage.
- Proven track record of driving sales growth and margin improvement across multiple outlets.
