SHE & Assistant Maintenance Manager

PZ Cussons is seeking a SHE & Assistant Maintenance Manager to oversee safety, health, and environmental policies while providing essential support for maintenance operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and monitoring company-wide compliance standards, managing risk assessments, and ensuring that maintenance practices align with both safety and sustainability goals.\n\n### Key Accountabilities\n\n* Develop, implement, and monitor company-wide safety, health, and environmental policies. Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify hazards and develop effective mitigation strategies.\n* Implement and maintain the ISO 45001 system, ensuring all safety standards are met. Maintain the Hazard Identification Tracker and ensure the timely closure of identified hazards.\n* Design and deliver SHE training programs for employees. Investigate workplace incidents and recommend preventive measures to avoid recurrence.\n* Monitor SHE performance metrics and prepare detailed reports for senior management. Liaise with regulatory agencies and stakeholders regarding SHE compliance and all statutory and regulatory requirements.\n* Organize annual medical check-ups for staff to ensure workplace wellbeing.\n* Implement the planned maintenance calendar and maintain the Asset Register. Ensure calibration of equipment is carried out regularly and manage service contracts.\n* Collaborate with production teams to ensure all machinery complies with safety standards. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues affecting machinery or facility operations.\n* Promote sustainability by aligning maintenance practices with environmental and safety goals. Maintain and track sustainability data.\n\n### Qualifications and Experience\n\n* Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.\n* Professional certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or technical maintenance certifications are highly preferred.\n* Conversant with ISO Management Systems (specifically ISO 45001).\n* At least 3 years of practical experience in an industrial setting.\n* At least 1 year of experience in SHE Management.\n\n### How to Apply\nInterested and qualified candidates should apply online by visiting the PZ Cussons career portal: .
