Senior Technician

GardaWorld International Protective Services is the international security division of GardaWorld Security Corporation, the world's largest privately owned security company. Our services include static security, consulting, threat monitoring and reporting, crisis response, logistical support, mobile security, close protection, training and risk management. The Senior Technician is responsible for managing, supervising and leading all maintenance related systems, projects and developments in the company. The incumbent will provide leadership to the Maintenance Team which delivers technical support, periodic maintenance, troubleshooting and fault-resolution of all technology products and services for clients throughout the country.\n\n### Key Responsibilities\n- Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice maintenance vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance.\n- Manage the maintenance teams and functions within agreed upon budgets, timelines and standards.\n- Constitute maintenance teams and assign responsibilities to ensure maximum utilisation and productivity.\n- Direct and schedule maintenance activities, monitor for quality delivery and endeavour to eliminate repeat work and unfulfilled scheduled tasks.\n- Work with the Installation Manager in developing the maintenance schedule.\n- Review quality assurance/quality control and maintenance reports throughout the maintenance cycles.\n- Produce task deliverables, documentation, reports, and presentation materials including Job Cards, Commissioning Documents, Training Manuals, Completion Certificates, BoQ and BOM reports.\n- Maintain records of the machines and utilities, analysing these and identifying cost management initiatives as well machine optimization opportunities.\n- Maintain client relation through interactions in order to evaluate, communicate and match client needs.\n- Inspects operating machines and equipment for conformance with operational standards and requisition tools, equipment, and supplies.\n- Plan, develop, and implement new methods and procedures designed to improve operations and minimize operating costs.\n- Keep abreast with and maintain security technology awareness including the latest products and solutions available in the market.\n- Direct training and coaching of workers to improve work performance.\n- Manage section staff capacity and skill levels through human resource planning and forecasting.\n\n### Principal Outputs\n- Upload and update records in the shared platform (Teams).\n- Improved efficiency and overall cost optimisation.\n- Preventative maintenance plans with clear project plans, WIP schedules and positive TAT reports.\n- Proper storage of maintenance records and timely reports and documentation (BoMs and BoQs).\n- Minimized downtime and increased efficiency on all installations.\n- Continuous improvement through periodic technical workgroup engagements and monthly KPI reports.\n\n### Accountability and Authority\n- Refer to GardaWorld’s Security Authority Matrix.\n- Accountable to the Tech Supervisor and Alarms Technical Manager.\n- Responsibilities monitored through mid-year and annual performance reviews and KPIs.\n\n### Qualifications and Experience\n- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, ICT security or any related field.\n- Higher Diploma or Diploma in design technology, engineering, security and risk management or any related field.\n- Minimum of eight (8) years maintenance experience with at least 3 years demonstrable experience in project implementation and management at a supervisory level.\n- In-depth knowledge of physical and electronic security systems including Alarm Systems, Access Control, CCTV, Fire Detection Systems, and BMS systems.\n- Certification in Gallagher, Avigilon, Cathexis Vision, Milestone, Genetec and Lenel is preferred.\n- Tech savvy with working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, MS Project, PowerPoint and Visio.\n\n### How to Apply\nInterested and qualified candidates should apply online via the GardaWorld career portal at jobs.garda.com.
