Job Description
The National Legal Aid Service (NLAS) is a state agency established under the Legal Aid Act 2016 with the mandate to offer legal aid services to vulnerable, marginalized, and indigent persons in Kenya.
The Senior Record Management Assistant is responsible for overseeing and executing record management and archiving processes at NLAS. This role involves handling physical and digital documents, ensuring security of files, and maintaining accurate records registers.
Duties and Responsibilities
Receiving, opening, sorting and recording mails.
Maintaining registers for incoming and outgoing mails.
Ensuring security of files and documents.
Ensuring all pending correspondences are brought to the attention of the supervisor and appropriate action is taken.
Preparing appraisal and disposal schedules of files and documents in liaison with relevant agencies.
Digitizing NLAS documents for circulation and archiving.
Qualifications and Requirements
At least nine (9) years of cumulative work experience, with three (3) years at the grade of Records Management Officer I or a comparable position in the Private or Public sector.
Diploma in any of the following disciplines: Record Management, Archives and Records Management, Technology in Archives and Records Management, Information Management, Archives, or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
Remuneration
NLAS Grade 6: Kshs. 90,468 x 7,388 – 97,856 x 7,391 – 105,247 x 7,391 – 112,638 x 7,391 – 120,029 x 7,391 – 127,420 x 7,391 – 134,811 x 7,391 – 142,202 p.m.
