Job Description
The National Quality Control Laboratory (NQCL) is a State Corporation within the Ministry of Health for Quality Control of Medicines on behalf of the Government of Kenya. An officer at this level is responsible for senior-level laboratory analysis and may be deployed in various functional areas including Biologics and Vaccines Analysis, Physico-chemical Analysis, Research, Innovation, Planning and Knowledge Management, and Sample Management and Quality Assurance.
Responsibilities
Conducting technical analysis of medical devices and pharmaceutical products.
Oversight of quality control processes within designated functional areas such as Biologics and Vaccines or Physico-chemical analysis.
Participating in research, innovation, and knowledge management initiatives to improve testing protocols.
Managing sample intake and ensuring strict adherence to laboratory quality assurance protocols.
Planning and coordinating laboratory activities to ensure compliance with national and international health standards.
Requirements and Qualifications
Cumulative relevant service period of Six (6) years, with at least three (3) years in the grade of Pharmaceutical Analyst I or in a comparable position.
Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy, Environmental Health, or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Certificate of Registration as a Pharmacist from the Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB).
Valid membership to a relevant professional body.
Proficiency in computer applications.
