Job Description
The Affordable Housing Board (AHB) is seeking a Senior Office Assistant to provide essential administrative support and ensure the smooth running of office operations. The right to housing is embedded in the Constitution of Kenya, and this role plays a part in supporting the board established to meet the demand for accessible and adequate housing in Kenya's growing urban environment.
Key Responsibilities
Ensuring the cleanliness of offices, machines, equipment, and apparatus.
Recording and dispatching letters, files, and documents.
Performing messengerial duties, including the dispatch of documents and mail.
Requisitioning cleaning materials and equipment.
Collecting and delivering office items, documents, mail, parcels, and postage.
Carrying out photocopying and document binding.
Maintaining the tidiness of the work environment.
Preparing and serving office tea and other refreshments.
Coordinating the movement or carrying of office equipment and furniture, ensuring orderly arrangement.
Coordinating the collection, assembly, and disposal of waste.
Providing specifications for cleaning materials and equipment and ensuring their safe custody.
Requirements & Qualifications
A cumulative service period of six (6) years’ work experience, with at least three (3) years at the grade of Office Assistant I or a comparable position.
Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) Mean Grade D (Plain) or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Completion of a one (1) month in-house Office Assistant Course.
Proficiency in computer applications.
Demonstrated merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
